The Dixie County School Board consists of five members elected by the qualified voters of the entire county. The term of office is for four years. Districts 2, 3 and 5 are elected in the same year and Districts 1 and 4 two years later.

On the third Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each year, the School Board holds its yearly organizational meeting at which time a chairman and vice chairman are elected and the yearly schedule for regular monthly meetings is set by the Board.

The Dixie County School Board meets in regular session on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Board workshops are scheduled when deemed necessary and are duly noticed.

All meetings of the Dixie County School Board are held in the School Board Meeting Facility, located at 823 SE 349 Highway, Old Town, FL.

SECTION 504 / ADA POLICY STATEMENT
It is the policy of the Board of Education to provide a free and appropriate public education to each disabled student within its jurisdiction, regardless of the nature or severity of the disability.  It is the intent of the district to ensure the students who are disabled within the definition of Section 504 / ADA of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 are identified, evaluated and provided with appropriate educational services.  Students may be disabled even though they do not require services under this policy pursuant to the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).  Due process rights of disabled students and their parents under Section 504 will be enforced.  For assistance, contact Alexa Mills, Director of ESE & Student Services.
